Cultural events in Romania
In cooperation with Czech Centre Bucharest and Museum of Glass and Costume
Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, two events are planned for this autumn
27. March 2008
The “Everyday Art – Václav Hanuš/Crystalware from the Jizera Mountains” exhibition, which is closely linked to the history of our company glassworks in Desná and which was organised by the Museum of Glass and Costume Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou in autumn 2007, will be presented to the Romanian public in Bucharest under the name of “Bohemian crystalware – past and contemporary”. The opening ceremony will be held on 11th September 2008 in the National Museum of Arts of Romania (www.mnar.arts.ro). Although Romania is only a very small market for the Jablonex Group, according to Monika Štěpánová, Director of the Czech Centre in Bucharest, there is major interest in Bohemian glass and its capacity for art in Romania. One result of this is that the Czech Centre will organize a special workshop for young Romanian designers using Jablonex Groups glass beads in September.
